About the post.
There are several reasons I do these monthly reports, but the main reason is so that I’m publicly accountable for everything I do. The way I see it is if I put my report out there to the world wide web then I really have no place to hide. This, to me, is one of the biggest motivators that will enable me to be highly determined to become a hugely successful entrepreneur. I literally have no place to hide!
Another reason I want to do these reports is because I’d like to think that one day I can sit back and read through the journey I took, and the ups and downs it took me to make it.
Lastly, I want to inspire! A huge catalyst for creating this blog was to inspire others into the entrepreneurial route of life. I was just a normal guy from a normal family who worked every hour under the sun as a chef in an Italian restaurant up until a few years ago, but hey, enough about me. Let’s get into the good stuff!
What I Have Done in May
I know I always say it, but damn that was busy!
It seems my life is moving very quick right now and I’m going from month to month as if it’s nothing, not taking time to rest or look back. I think that’s why these reports are SO important for me!
May literally flew by…….
The biggest standout of May just HAD to be our Lovecars adventure to the South of France. Given that I will only be abroad this year on business, it was a lovely surprise to be able to grab a last minute getaway to France.
We had planned to relax and discuss business, life, goals and more, but we just always seemed to be doing something…Something that happened to be fun with supercars, but it wasn’t as much of a “getaway” as we had first thought.
Besides the trip, which you can read about below shortly, my business partner Andy and I managed to get away for a night for one of our intense 24-hour “lock ins”. Basically we lock ourselves in a hotel for 24 hours with no other distractions and thrash out the coming months’ business plans!
We did manage to find some time to visit the hotel gym and spa, which was one of the oddest experiences ever. Read on below to find out why!
Let’s do this…..
My business partner Paul and our operational manager Paul T (both called Paul, sorry!) kicked off the month by visiting Italy for the Cars and Coffee rally sponsored by Lovecars.
Paul was able to arrange for a select few of his very important friends to take their supercars down to Milan to participate in Italy’s biggest Cars and Coffee drive ever. Luckily for us, our social media manager is the co-owner of Cars and Coffee Italy, and they all did an amazing job in putting together a great event.
After Milan, the boys drove down to Southern France to meet me, Andy, and our business developer Torquil. I’m not going to bore you with the details of the trip again, so for those of you who want to read it in full you can visit this link here.
In a nutshell, we spent the next few days cruising around Cannes and taking footage of some of the most exclusive supercars on the planet!
A big highlight was shooting our first ever “Facebook Live” video.
We ran a test video overviewing the Porsche 918 and then properly analysed and drew up a plan for the next official Live video. The techniques we devised from planning meant that we reached over 130,000 people in the first hour with a single video!
I’ll be writing a blog post on Facebook Live soon, but one takeaway from this wrap-up is that engagement is everything! The more you can get your audience to comment, share and like the video, the better your reach will be!
Meanwhile, whilst we were galavanting around Europe, our development team was continuing to develop the site, and we’ve managed to add some really cool features this month, not limited to but including:
- Auto Video Embedding
- Auto Link Embedding
- Discussion Forums
- Facebook Instant News Articles
and much more.
We’re now trying to secure our next round of investment before we finish building our mobile application and then take this thing out of beta and release it to the world!
Who’s familiar with William Souza?
William is a close friend and moderator of AffiliateFix.com. Not only that, but he’s also the genius behind the CPA marketing course: CPA Evolution 2.0.
In May, we teamed up with William to offer AffiliateFix members the chance to view a webinar, and furthermore, join his exclusive coaching course even when it’s now officially closed to the public.
If you missed the webinar, I highly recommend watching it here. For the first time ever, William actually set up and made money from a mobile marketing campaign LIVE on the webinar! At the end of the webinar, he pitched his coaching course to members of the Fix.
I’m a huge advocate of his course as I’ve seen firsthand how it helps newbies make money with affiliate marketing. The webinar was amazing and we managed to generate over $30,000 in one week, just from that single webinar!
If you’re a product owner reading this, watch the webinar also to see how William cleverly pitches his product!
Now $30,000 profit is awesome right, but what’s more awesome is the fact that William’s course is real. It has generated WAY MORE than that for those that join it. In fact, an AffiliateFix member, who shall remain unnamed for his privacy, reached out to me last week and told me how he’s just had his first $1000+ profit day thanks to William’s course and our suggestion to join it!
Another thing we did on AF in May was to introduce a NEW resources recruit. You can see in this thread here I advertised on the forums for someone to work on a CPL basis to bring in new companies for our resources listings. So in May, we brought in Eskil who has started making outbound approaches to businesses not yet represented on the Fix.
It’s still early days, but I really hope he works out!
In other FixForums news, our website is now coded and I will be populating the content and placing it live in the next coming week, so be on the lookout for that! I have some big choices and decisions to make this month regarding the forums, and I will at last be making time for them, along with asking the advice of my forum manager T J!

Landing Page Guys
So above, I said Andy and I had one of our “lock ins” whereby we lock ourselves away for 24 hours and work out our next business moves, etc. Well, on our agenda for this month was finding potential mentors to help us in business. We were just discussing this in the hotel pool when we were approached by someone who’s just sold their online SaSS company for $10million+….WOW!
What a small world! Needless to say, we exchanged cards and plan to meet up with him this coming month.
Karma is real!
May was a busy week for the team, working on a new website, our first plugin, and our normal client flow of work.
As I mentioned a few months back, we’re developing a LimeLightCRM plugin, which we were very excited to be walked through for the first time earlier today. The plugin will basically easily integrate and sync LimeLightCRM with WordPress e-commerce carts.
This basically means you’ll be able to use LimeLightCRM as your chosen CRM for not only landing page funnels but also for full shopping carts and WordPress setups!
We hope to launch the plugin sometime later this month for beta testers.
The new website will also launch alongside the plugin, as we had to adapt our current site for a plugin library and cart. For now, here’s a sneak preview of what’s to come:
Day to day business was pretty busy in May also, and we seemed to see a huge influx of business coming from Facebook groups. We thankfully have lots of very loyal clients who recommend us as and when industry folk ask for designers and programmers.
I’ve had more phone calls in the last two days since being back from France than in the past two weeks thanks to leads that have come in via Facebook! I’m hoping to close as many new clients as I can before the weekend to ensure the team is crushing it in June!
Let’s get my selling hat on!
I failed! My copy assistant Francine will correct me if I’m wrong but I think this is the 3rd month out of 11 that I’ve only written 3 blog posts instead of my targeted 4. 11 MONTHS……wait…what!
Let’s get back to that in a minute. Here’s a recap of my posts in May:
- Lovecars Takeover: the South of France!
- How Split Testing our Banners Increased our Profits 138.46%
- April 2016 Growth Report
So yeah, 11 months!
Wow, can you believe it that next month will be my 12th growth report, meaning I’d have been blogging on here for a whole year!
I’d like to do something special for my first birthday, so if you guys have any suggestions, please leave them in the comments. Likewise, if you’ve been reading since day one, I’d LOVE to hear from you below!
I’ve made some cosmetic changes to the blog this past month including:
- Adding View Count to Posts
- Top Ten Most Read Articles Widget
- Opt in Box Collapse
and a few more.
I hope these will help increase people moving from article to article and will also help separate and give me an idea of my most popular content.
My podcast interview on RebelHead Entrepreneurs will be going live this or next week, so I’ll be requesting that you guys take a listen and let me know what you think of it. It’s my first podcast interview in some time, so I hope I come across well. Either way, I’d respect everyone’s opinions.
Be on the lookout for an email with a link to the podcast and please let me know if you have any suggestions for my blog’s anniversary below!
We kicked off the month with a visit to Anfield to watch the mighty reds take on Villarreal in the UEFA Europa League Cup semi-final.
The night was again incredible….almost magic as we comfortably won the game 3-0 and qualified for the final. (We won’t talk about the final!)
I was able to take a guest again and took my good friend Jon who’s also Liverpool mad. Once again, we experienced the Legends Lounge with a free drink, a 5-course meal, and a meet and greet with some of the players.
Let’s not mention the final…….
May was also my partner Josie’s Father’s 60th birthday!
As a family, we organised a surprise getaway for him in Devon, in a lovely covered barn with a private hot tub! The barn was beautiful and had been finished to an amazing standard. I was asked to once again don my chef whites as I cooked up a special celebratory meal for Pete on the Saturday night!
My menu looked a little something like this:
Everyone seemed to really enjoy the food and it was a really awesome weekend not to forget for Pete’s birthday! I’m hoping to get back to the barn very soon as it was an amazing place for sure!
The only frustrating thing personally in May was the fact that my fitness lacked due to being on the road. I did manage to exercise most days, but it’s not quite the same when you haven’t got your trainer, are drinking and eating every day, and the sun is so hot you sweat just looking at your running shoes!
So June is all about getting back into shape – no beer, no shit food, and lots of training with Tom.
Bring on June!
What do you have planned?
