October 2016 Growth Report

About the post.

This is my sixteenth growth report on OliverKenyon.com. I use these reports to share my progress updates from both a business and a personal point of view. You can view my previous reports here.

There are several reasons I do these monthly reports, but the main reason is so that I’m publicly accountable for everything I do. The way I see it is if I put my report out there to the world wide web then I really have no place to hide. This, to me, is one of the biggest motivators that will enable me to be highly determined to become a hugely successful entrepreneur. I literally have no place to hide!

Another reason I want to do these reports is because I’d like to think that one day I can sit back and read through the journey I took, and the ups and downs it took me to make it.

Lastly, I want to inspire! A huge catalyst for creating this blog was to inspire others into the entrepreneurial route of life. I was just a normal guy from a normal family who worked every hour under the sun as a chef in an Italian restaurant up until a few years ago, but hey, enough about me. Let’s get into the good stuff!

What I Have Done in October

October = madness.

So as you may have read in my September update, we made some big decisions in the past few months and October was all about executing them.

I’ll be perfectly honest. We may have bitten off more than we can chew, but in short, we spent the whole month deep in design and development working on affilinc, affkit and the all new AffiliateFix.

My motto in business is Take Massive Action and I wanted to be a practiser of what I preached, so I think my 29th birthday was a kick in the ass for me to get a move on with furthering my companies.

Not only did we work on the 3 new projects above, but we also managed to have our busiest month all year with Landing Page Guys, making huge strides with “Project P” and also booking ourselves our first ever speaking gig.

I remember one day in October I was selling EntrepreneurFix, buying 5staraffiliateprogam, launching the new affkit whilst running Landing Page Guys and Project P, and working on the new AffiliateFix.com – October was a blur!

October’s report will hopefully get you excited for what’s to come in November, so let’s jump straight in.

We finally have a website to go alongside the new company name.

Oh, and a sexy new animation that I wanted for the logo:

You can check out the new website here.

Not only that, but we also moved ahead with the company’s second acquisition to follow the purchase of affkit with the purchase of the famous 5staraffiliateprograms.com.

For those of you who don’t know, the 5star community is one of the oldest and most respected affiliate forums online, so we jumped at the opportunity to add it to the affilinc family. It boasts a great range of members and topics but also focuses a lot more on the advertiser and merchant side of affiliate marketing, which will be a great addition to AffiliateFix.

We plan to merge it with AffiliateFix in early November when we launch the new platform.

You can keep up to date with affilinc’s acquisitions and activity here.

On a side note, as part of the dispatch of FixForums to be replaced by affilinc, we also sold EntrepreneurFix to Adam from BizWarriors.com. You can now find the forums here.

Congratulations to Adam and his team, thanks to all the FixForums staff, and all the best with the new BizWarriors forum!

So let’s take a look at how our first purchase is getting on…..

October marked the launch of the all new affkit.com.

Although we’ve put up a temporary homepage whilst we close the doors to new customers until after our big launch, we allowed existing users to have access to the all-new affkit UI/UX and members area featuring:

  • New tools
  • Explainer videos
  • Tool updates
  • New user experience
  • New UI/UX
  • Support system

and way more.

We’re now working hard alongside William Souza to gear ourselves up for one of the biggest product launches of 2016.

You’ll soon be able to see our “joint ventures” page on affkit.com, and to all existing users, we welcome you to sign in now and let us know your thoughts. The feedback thus far has been amazing, so thank you!

October was spent working with the entire staff and development team gearing up for the big launch in November.

We plan to launch the all new AffiliateFix on the 8th of November if all goes to plan!

I can now share the news that we will also be merging the WebsiteFix forum and 5staraffiliateprogram forum into AffiliateFix to give us one super forum with over 90,000 members and 300,000 discussions.

I’ve shared details on the new site in my previous update, but it’s almost ready for launch and we’ve got a lot more to follow the update.

We also were super happy to media sponsor the PMI event in London at the end of October. Not only did we sponsor the event, but we also teamed up with the awesome team at AdCombo to offer some of AffiliateFix’s UK members a free VIP ticket to the event and after party.

The event was great, and we made some very exciting new leads along with seeing lots of old friends and catching up with some good mates. We spent the day in meetings before heading to one of our favourite bars in London at the Empire Casino to watch the Mighty Reds win 2-1 in the cup against the Spurs.

What followed was a little blurry as we indulged in a lot of free drinks with the guys from AffiliateFix and AdCombo. Thanks again to Matt and his team for organising and to AdCombo for the great event we hosted together!

Touch wood, this time next month I’ll be able to finally show you the all new AffiliateFix!

Also, we’re not going to show stats for this month as we’re vastly expanding. Once we’ve migrated the new sites into AffiliateFix, we’ll start again with the stats as of next month!

Landing Page Guys

As I mentioned in last month’s update, September was our slowest month for years. However, as I mentioned above, October was our busiest month in years!

We spent the whole month closing new clients and delivering work in the masses! We’re also expecting a busy November following lots of successful meetings at the PMI London event.

More exciting news is that Andy and I got invited to host and speak at our first ever event!

GlobalWideMedia (Neverblue) reached out to us to be the guest speakers of their London Publisher Brunch:

We’ve prepared a really exciting and informational talk about our landing page blueprint and checklist we use internally at the Landing Page Guys, and I’m personally buzzing about speaking at our first event!

Videos and images to follow on the blog this week!

As far as “Project P” goes, we’re making solid progress. We actually brought on a second dev this month in order to speed up the build as we’re already one year into the software.

We decided to add an incredible feature enhancement this month, which should instantly put us way ahead of the competition when we launch early next year!

With everything that’s been going on above, the blog suffered in October with just 3 updates as seen below:

However, I’m hoping once AffiliateFix is relaunched I would have some more time to get back to posting some updates. I can’t wait to share the video of our landing page presentation to you guys in November!

I’ve also been toying with the idea of redesigning the blog. What do you think of the current blog and its overall look?

Although I’d like to, I think I really need to get the above launched, etc. before I start to look at this site, but I’ve got some nice ideas in my head with what I want to do.

I honestly do get amazed when I get a spare minute to write my monthly updates and see how much I not only do in work but also in my personal life!

In short, October featured:

  • A trip to London with cocktail bars, ice bars, Harry Potter hotels and fancy meals
  • A weekend away in a country cottage for my sister’s birthday
  • A hospitality trip to see my beloved Liverpool play
  • A Halloween party at our house for all of our friends

and many other things. It’s crazy but now I don’t have a spare weekend until after Christmas!

The London trip was one of the highlights as Andy and I were treated by Josie and Andy’s wife Hollie for our birthdays.

We started in the ice bar and then went on to some really nice bars followed by a meal in the OXO Tower. If you ever go to London and want somewhere nice to eat, I really recommend the OXO Tower. It has a great menu and amazing view.

Not only that, but we also stayed in a HARRY POTTER HOTEL!

It was amazing! Our room looked just like the common rooms, and all being Harry Potter nerds, it was an experience not to forget!

Speaking of experiences not to forget, InstaForex sent me on another amazing trip to Anfield, and although the game this time was very boring, the experience was as good as ever!

I also got to meet one of my childhood heroes, Sami Hypia!

Let’s hope next month I can actually show you some of our new projects instead of talking about “getting them ready”.

What did you get up to in October?
